Cooking equipment available to use free of charge.

Heat and Eat is a new project of the Ardrossan Church of the Nazarene. It is simple in concept. If you lack energy at home (Gas/electricity) to cook food as well as heat your home then save the money to heat the home. Come along and use our cooking equipment. Its like going to a laundrette. But instead of a washing machine we have a range of cooking equipment – Pressure cooker, soup maker, induction hobs, ovens and a healthy fryer. There is no cost thanks to the support of Awards for All. The equipment is available twice a week on a Thursday from 4pm to 6pm. Individuals and families welcome. If you are unsure about the equipment or recipes we are appreciative of having the skills and knowledge of Chef Darren Fisher from the Garfields Tapas and Wine Bar on hand to guide you. Whilst at “Heat and Eat” you may also wish to access the Fareshare fresh food available every Thursday which varies each week but usually includes bread, milk, various vegetables and fruits and occasionally fish and/or meat. Again, available from 4pm. You may wish to select some food and cook it on the available equipment.
