Postcode Lottery gifts local charities funding

27th January 2024

The Postcode Lottery today released the good news that not only did 2 households win a share in the £1m street prize (congratulations to the lucky anonymous winners); multiple local charities were given offers of financial gifts ranging from £20-50K. North Ayrshire was offered and has accepted its offer of £50,000. Ironically, the Foodbank was going to start a funding application, with the support of the Trussell Trust Network manager, for assistance from the Postcode Lottery to keep our childrens holiday programme going as it ran out of funding over the summer of 2023. The holiday club provides two bases offering local children a daily activity as well as a lovely meal for the day. “Make a meal of it” will now be financially secure for three years thanks to the Postcode Lottery, the Grey Dippers, the Community Mental health and Wellbeing Fund as well as another local grant giving body we are currently in discussion. This holiday time support to families has been well used having been financed by the BBC Children in Need these six-years and the Moffat Trust the preceding two-years. Thank you to all of our contributors for making the continuation of this support possible. We wish the Postcode Lottery continued success in their fundraising and support to organisations across the Country and making a huge impact in the daily lives of so many citizens.
