About
Human Rights workshops 2024/25.
The Foodbank has engaged a worker to help us to explore what Human Rights are and how we can all ensure that we are understanding them and applying them to our lives. These workshops compliment the work of our campaigns officer who would like to work on addressing issues impacting on our daily lives - especially around food insecurity. The workshops are aimed at people with a lived experience of food insecurity or low income.
The workshops will focus on broad themes which essentially summarise the 30 Rights as defined by the United Nations and others legal sources.
Workshop 1: Economic, social and cultural rights. The date of the workshop is November 16th 2024. See news section for further details.
Workshop 2: Civil and political rights (will be held in 2025)
Workshop 3: Collective Human Rights (will be held in 2025)
The workshops have been organised so that they are suitable for young people (12-18) and adults. They will be full of interactive sessions whereby attendees will have loads of time to explore issues.
Hospitality will be available throughout the session and for those requiring it a travel bursary will be available when agreed in advance.
Booking a place is by texting 07411113126.
